London: The World Test Championship final will be played between Team India and New Zealand from 18 June. Fans are eagerly waiting for this World Cup of Test Cricket. Team India will leave England from Mumbai on June 2, after which it will remain there for 10 days in isolation.
Meanwhile, former England left-arm spinner Monty Panesar has given a statement regarding the World Test Championship.
Jadeja will be India’s ‘X-Factor’: Panesar
Monty Panesar feels that when India play the final of the World Test Championship, then Team India’s all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja can prove to be the ‘X-Factor’ for India.
Panesar said that while a lot will depend on how the International Cricket Council (ICC) prepares the pitch for the WTC finals, the spinners will also play an important role in this important match.
Panesar said, ‘Ravindra Jadeja will be the X-factor for me. He is in great form in the Indian Premier League. If India decides to go with just one spinner, then I will go with Jadeja instead of (Ravichandran) Ashwin as a spin. Jadeja’s defensive bowling skills and being left-handed gives him a one-of-a-kind advantage.’
Please tell that Chennai Super Kings all-rounder Jadeja scored 131 runs and took six wickets.
The battle will start on June 18
The World Test Championship final against New Zealand will be played at Southampton on 18 June, while the series against England will begin in Nottingham on 4 August. The second Test will be played at Lodgers on 12 to 16 August, the third at Leeds on 25 to 29 August, the fourth at the Oval on 2 to 6 September and the fifth at Manchester from 10 to 14 September.
