Fifties from Mohammad Rizwan and captain Babar Azam and a century partnership between the two ensured Pakistan their fourth straight win after beating Namibia by 45 runs in a group two match of the Super 12 stage of the ICC T20 World Cup to seal their place in the semi-finals.

Player of the match Mohammad Rizwan was chosen for this match. He played a blistering innings of 79 runs today. He said after the match, “Initially we had to work hard and it paid off that we finished in great style in the end, we are happy that we have made it to the semi-finals and the good thing is that our whole team is one We are playing like a unit. We would like to play like this in future also and request all our supporters to keep supporting our team like this.”

Babar Azam, the captain of the winning team Pakistan, said, “Thank Allah we did well, today we came with a different plan to bat first and we were successful in that too. We changed Hasan Ali according to the condition. And got him to bowl with the new ball. In the second half, the dew was causing some trouble to the fielder but it’s not a big issue because in big tournaments you can’t make it an excuse. The kind of cricket we’re playing, we’re going to continue this. And in the semi-finals also we will give our 100 per cent.”

Namibian captain Erard Erasmus said, “We knew from the beginning that Pakistan was a very strong team but still we faced them. We bowled well in the first 10 overs but after that they proved that they have depth in their batting. Going forward we will take every single match seriously and it is like an opportunity for all of us because at this level we don’t get to play much.
