New Delhi: Today is the birthday of Sourav Ganguly, one of the most successful captains of Indian cricket. Ganguly changed the face of Indian cricket with his combative and aggressive attitude. This left-handed batsman gave new confidence to Indian cricket.
Sourav Ganguly, also known as ‘Dada’ among his fans, was the first face of Indian cricket that further strengthened the team’s confidence of winning matches outside the country. Especially at the beginning of the year 2000, he proved to be a ‘game-changer’ for the Indian team.
‘Prince of Kolkata’ Sourav Ganguly has turned 48 today. Ganguly took command of the team at a time when Indian cricket was going through its worst phase.
Ganguly also pulled the team out of match-fixing controversies and gave cricketers like India’s greatest match-winners Yuvraj Singh, Harbhajan Singh, Virender Sehwag, Zaheer Khan and Mahendra Singh Dhoni a chance to perform better.
