New Delhi: India has to compete in the final of the World Test Championship (WTC) against New Zealand next month. Team India has worked hard for the last two years to play this big match. In this success of India, the legendary spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has a very big hand.

Ashwin close to a big record

Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin is just four wickets away from becoming the highest wicket-taker in the upcoming WTC. India has to play the WTC final with New Zealand in Southampton, England from 18 to 22 June and Ashwin can achieve this feat there.

Cummins is ahead

Australian fast bowler Pat Cummins is ahead of Ashwin (Ravichandran Ashwin), who has 70 wickets in his account. Cummins has taken these wickets in 14 Tests while Ashwin has 67 wickets in 13 Tests. If Ashwin plays in the playing XI, everyone’s eyes will be on him once again. New Zealand fast bowler Tim Southee is at number three with 51 wickets in 10 matches and he will have to take 20 wickets to reach the top, which seems a little impossible.

Ashwin’s awesome in WTC

Ashwin (Ravichandran Ashwin) has taken four or more wickets four times in WTC matches so far. He is followed by Australian spinner Nathan Lyon, who has 56 wickets in his account. Ashwin has played nine matches in India, nine in Australia, three in Australia and one in New Zealand so far. He has taken most wickets in India only. Apart from this, he has taken 15 wickets in foreign and 52 wickets at home.

Of the 52 wickets taken abroad by Ashwin (Ravichandran Ashwin), he has taken 32 wickets in four-Test series during the WTC this year. He was also the man of the series against England. Ashwin has taken 14 wickets in only six Test matches in England.
