New Delhi: After the ICC T20 World Cup 2021, the eyes of Indian fans are on the New Zealand series. Team India’s T20 squad for the New Zealand series has been announced. Many big names are not included in this team, and many youngsters have been given a place in the newly announced team.

They found a new captain of T20 cricket

Virat Kohli had decided to leave the captaincy after the T20 World Cup 2021. After which, speculations were being made about the new captain. Sharma has been made the captain of the T20 team for the New Zealand series. At the same time, KL Rahul has got the responsibility of vice-captain. Rohit had earlier captained Mumbai Indians in the IPL. Under his captaincy, Mumbai has won the IPL title five times.

Big names not included in the team

Many big players have not been given a place in Team India’s squad. India captain Virat Kohli has been rested. Hardik Pandya has to bear the brunt of his poor performance in the T20 World Cup. Hardik was not in form, and runs were not coming off his bat. He has not been given a place in the team. Fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, and star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja have been rested.

Youngsters get a chance

Many youngsters have been given a place in the 16-member squad for the Indian team’s 3-match T20 series against New Zealand. Ruturaj Gaikwad, the highest run-scorer in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021, and Harshal Patel, the highest wicket-taker, have also been included in India’s 16-member team. Venkatesh Iyer, who took KKR to the final on his own, has got a place in the team. Harshal Patel, Rituraj Gaikwad, and Venkatesh Iyer have been rewarded for their best performance in the IPL. Senior leg-spinners Yuzvendra Chahal and Mohammad Siraj have returned to the team.
