New Delhi: Former Indian cricketer VVS Laxman, while praising his former teammate Yuvraj Singh, has said that his achievements in the game have been very spectacular despite going through difficult times physically. Yuvraj made a significant contribution to India winning the World Cup in 2011, despite battling a disease like cancer. In the 2011 World Cup, Yuvraj was elected the ‘Player of the Tournament’.

Laxman wrote on Twitter, ‘Yuvraj Singh, who became an inspiration to many people because of his successful victory over cancer, took the team on his shoulders in the 2011 World Cup despite being seriously ill. After recovering from illness, he scored the best ODI score of his career, which is a symbol of his unwavering courage. In 2017, Yuvraj played brilliant innings of 150 runs in 127 ODIs against England in Cuttack with the help of 21 fours and three sixes.
