New Delhi: The time for the IPL Auction 2021 has come very close. The process of the mini-auction will begin at 3:00 pm Indian time on February 18. This time the fate of 292 cricketers will be decided, in which only 61 players can be purchased. There is a lot of discussion about RTM card among all this, let us tell you about it.
What is RTM Card?
RTM Card means ‘Right to Match’ card is used in the mega auction. Through this card, any franchisee can retain their 2 old players. When the final price of a player is decided during the auction, the old team of that cricketer is asked whether they want to retain them through this card or not.
Will RTM be used this time?
The RTM card is used only during the mega auction when players are bid afresh. During this time any team can retain a maximum of 5 players. 3 cricketers are directly retained, while 2 players can return to the old team through RTM. Since the mini-auction is being done in 2021, this process will not be used this time.
