New Delhi: Former South African captain AB de Villiers’ return to international cricket is being speculated constantly. Cricket South Africa director Graeme Smith has hinted at the return of AB de Villiers, known as 360 Degree. De Villiers can be included in the T20 series played against the West Indies. AB de Villiers surprised everyone with his decision to retire in the year 2018. He played international cricket for 15 years.
Last month, South Africa’s head coach Mark Boucher hinted that AB de Villiers could return to the South African national team for the T20 World Cup. The 37-year-old de Villiers said on his return that it would be wonderful to playback for South Africa. I will talk to Mark Boucher after the IPL. Graeme Smith, Director of Cricket South Africa, has also given the same indication a month later. Smith pointed to the return of the former South African captain along with Imran Tahir and Chris Morris. Smith believes that the return of such players will strengthen South Africa’s T20 team.
Smith said the return of AB de Villiers said that South Africa would tour the West Indies for two Tests and five T20 Internationals. He hinted that the fans could see AB de Villiers once again playing in the South African jersey during the five-match T20 series against the West Indies.
