ENG vs PAK: Second Test draw after continuous rain interference, England continues to lead the series

Southampton: The second Test match between England vs Pakistan ended on a draw due to continuous rain. Even 2 innings in the match could not be completed. England could only manage 110 runs in their first innings, losing 4 wickets, Mohammad Abbas took 2 wickets for Pakistan, while Shaheen Afridi and Yasir Shah got 1-1 wickets. Mohammad Rizwan was awarded the ‘Man of the Match’ award for outstanding batting.

Earlier, Pakistan’s team had scored 236 in their first innings. The Southampton Test has been completely ruined by rain. In the first day of this match, 45.4 overs could be played due to rain. Under which Pakistan team scored 126 for 5 wickets on the first day, on the second day due to rain, the number of overs reduced to 40.2 and the score of Pakistan team has reached 223 runs for 9 wickets on the basis of Mohammad Rizwan’s best half-century.

The sequence of rain increased significantly on the third day of the match. Due to which a single over could not be thrown on the third day. On the fourth day of the second Test match, the shadow of rain remained on the match and only 10.2 overs could be played throughout the day. Pakistan’s first innings between these overs ended 236 runs and England lost their 1 wicket for 7 runs. For England, opener Domnik Sibley 2 and Jack Crowley scored 5 runs and remained at the crease.

Earlier, wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan played a brilliant 72 and opener Abid Ali scored 60 runs for Pakistan. For England, fast bowler Stuart Broad took 4 wickets and James Anderson took 3 wickets. While Sam Curran and Chris Woakes got 1–1 wicket. After this match, England continues to lead 1-0 in the 3-match Test series. The third Test will be played in Southampton from 21 August.
