Boxing great Roberto Duran has tested positive for COVID-19. Duran had a career spanning to over three-decade won world championships in four weight classes.
“At the moment he’s not having symptoms beyond a cold. We’ll be passing on more information over the days,” the son Robin Durán wrote on his Instagram account.
The coronavirus outburst has affected the sporting world too. Earlier, world’s number one male tennis star Novak Djokovic has received Coronavirus test positive.
Other tennis player Grigor Dimitrov was tested positive for the coronavirus and adding to the list are Croatia’s Borna Coric and Novak Djokovic’s fitness coach.
“I want to make sure anyone who has been in contact with me during the last few days get tested,” the 23-year-old Coric said.
Apart from the tennis stars, former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi, Taufeeq Umar, Sourav Ganguly’s brother’s wife and her parents, Bangladesh’s former captain Mashrafe Mortaza were also tested positive for the same earlier.
Zafar Sarfraz a 50-year-old former first-class cricketer from Pakistan passed away due to Corona last month.
28-year-old left-arm spinner Islam and Nafees Iqbal, Tamim Iqbal’s elder brother also tested positive. Later, ten of the Pakistan’s players who were slated to travel to England tested positive but Mohammad Hafeez who was one of these players got a negative result in the second test.
