Those who fast on Ganesh Chaturthi should offer Arghya along with the smell, Akshat etc. to the Risen Moon, Shriganesh and Chaturthi Mata.
Hanumanji also used to worship Ganesha. Jyotishacharya Pandit Kumar Sharma says that he worshipped Ganesh by keeping a Ganesh Chaturthi fast before leaving to find Sitaji.
