Elections are to be held in five states next year and even before that, leaders like Salman Khurshid and Rashid Alvi are creating opportunities for the BJP and new trouble for the Congress party with their statements. Now Mani Shankar Aiyar’s entry has added fuel to the fire for the controversial Congress. Mani Shankar Aiyar claimed that the Mughals never oppressed the country in the name of religion. After this, he did not take any time to build the bridges of praise of the Mughal rulers. However, this work is not new to him, he has on many occasions brought the Congress party to a halt with his controversial statements and has become the reason for BJP’s victory in the elections.

Mughals made this country their own

While praising the Mughals during a program on Nehru Jayanti, Mani Shankar Aiyar said, “There was a big difference between the British and the Mughals. The Mughals made this country their own. The British said no. We have come here to rule.” Babar was the one, whose son the people of the Bharatiya Janata Party often give me the name…that he is the son of Babur…I want to tell these people that the same Babar came to India in 1526 and he died in 1530. Means he stayed in India only 4 years…he told Humayun that if you want to run this country…if you want to keep your empire safe then you will not interfere in the religion of the residents here.”

Words in the glory of Babar

On Babar, Iyer said, “His son Akbar ruled this country for fifty years. Keeping this in view, the place where I used to live when I was a minister is a road in Delhi, where the Congress office is located, it is on Akbar Road. We don’t mind Akbar Road. We consider Akbar as our own and we do not consider him as non. They were married to Rajputs. The result was that Jahangir was half Rajput and his son Shah Jahan three out of four Hindus.

Only 80% of people are real Indians

Iyer further told how the Mughals never committed any atrocities, but only allegations are made. He said, ‘In 1872, the British conducted the first census and it was found that after ruling for 666 years, the number of Muslims in India was about 24 per cent and Hindus were 72 per cent. Still, it is said that there was a fight, all the girls were raped and they made everyone Muslim. Hey, if you become a Muslim, the figures should be different. 72 per cent should be Muslims and 24 per cent should be Hindus, but what was the reality that there were only so many. Therefore, before the partition, Jinnah’s only demand was to give us 30 per cent reservation in the Central Assembly. He didn’t ask for more. But they were refused, as their number was only 26 per cent.

Along with this, targeting the BJP, Aiyar said that for those in power today, only 80% of the people are real Indians, the rest are living as guests. These people are only concerned about 80 per cent, they are doing the work of dividing the country. After this BJP started besieging Mani Shankar Aiyar.

Anger on social media

There has been a different reaction of people on social media regarding this statement of Mani Shankar Aiyar. If a user told it the views of Congress, then someone said that now Congress will abstain from this statement?

2014 Lok Sabha elections

Before the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Mani Shankar Aiyar had used the word ‘chaiwallah for Narendra Modi. Aiyar’s statement was heavily criticized on social media and the Congress party faced criticism. The Congress had to bear the brunt of this by facing defeat in the Lok Sabha.

Mani Shankar Aiyar has brought humiliation to the party on many occasions, the action was also taken against him on many occasions, but before the elections, he gives rise to some such controversy, after which the Congress is unable to control the damage. Mani Shankar Aiyar’s entry may put Congress on the back foot before the assembly elections to be held in many states in 2022.
