Modi government has brought 3 bills for farmers, Congress is opposing: JP Nadda

New Delhi: BJP President JP Nadda told in a press conference on Wednesday that the Modi government has brought 3 bills in Parliament to help the farmers. Nadda said that the farmers will be helped in selling the products. He said that the opposition party Congress Party is opposing these bills. The dual character of Congress is coming out on farmers. Congress is misleading the farmers.

Nadda said, ‘Keeping the farmers in view, there have been three bills in this Parliament. The Essential Commodities Act (Amendment) Bill 2020 has also been passed and discussed in the Lok Sabha tomorrow. In the same way, the Farmers Produce Trade and Commerce Act‌ and the Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement Bill on Price Assurance and Agricultural Services. All three bills are revolutionary. These three bills which are currently being discussed in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, these three bills are very far-sighted.’

He further said, ‘These three bills are very important and beneficial in increasing investment in the agriculture sector. These three bills are going to increase the prices of farmers’ produce at a very fast pace.’

Taking a dig at the Congress, Nadda said, ‘Today the Congress party is opposing these bills. Congress party has a double face, it is always their job to do politics in everything. Congress knows nothing except politics.’

Significantly, the Lok Sabha approved the Essential Commodities (Amendment) Bill 2020 yesterday. This bill provides for the removal of cereals, pulses, oilseeds, edible oil, onion potatoes from the list of essential commodities.
