The Maharashtra government is fully responsible for the cancellation of the Other Backward Classes Reservation. In this regard, Fadnavis also wrote a letter to the Chief Minister of the state, Uddhav Thackeray. In the letter, Fadnavis accused the Shiv Sena-NCP and the Congress government of not being serious about the issue.

The high court quashed the OBC reservation

In the letter, Fadnavis said that the OBC reservation in local body elections has been repealed by the High Court. A review petition filed by the state government on this has also been dismissed. Which is the result of gross negligence on behalf of the state. Fadnavis said that the Maha Vikas Aghadi government has always been careless about this issue. The former Chief Minister said that during the hearing in the case, the High Court had said that the State Government should set up the Backward Classes Commission and submit empirical data before the court which justifies reservation.

Intentionally did not present the figure

Even after the court said, the state government was sitting hand in hand and did nothing in this direction. At the same time, Maharashtra Congress chief Nana Patole has held the central government accountable for not providing any such data. The Congress leader said that the High Court had asked the central government to present the figures. But the Center kept pressing the matter and did not deliberately present the figure. This is the reason that the reservation was repealed.
