PDP president Mehbooba Mufti on Sunday accused the BJP of using the suffering of Kashmiri Pandits to gain votes and carry forward divisive politics.

She said that some people associated with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) sitting in studios in Delhi claiming to be representatives of this community (Kashmiri Pandits) and doing tirade. She said that such people are not allowing talks between Pandits and Muslims to reach the point of agreement in the valley.

Mufti said in his party headquarters, “They (Kashmiri Pandits) are out of their homes for so long and want to return but the question is how to do it. The manner in which the BJP has adopted this issue, instead of bringing both the communities (Pandits and Muslims) together, is like creating more division between them.
