Lucknow: ADG (Law and Order) of Uttar Pradesh Prashant Kumar gave information at the press conference on the case of History Sheeter Vikas Dubey that SOG team Shivrajpur Police and Rail Bazar Police, on the information of the informer, gave prize money of 50 thousand rupees at 2:50 am on Tuesday. And arrested Shashikant alias Sonu, a partner of Vikas Dubey, the main accused in the Kanpur police murder case, from the fair Tiraha town Chaubepur. During interrogation, Shashikant has told Vikas Dubey, Amar Dubey, Prabhat Dubey, Shyamu Bajpai and other accused to be involved in the Kanpur police murder case.
The ADG said, “Shashikant told police interrogation that after killing the policemen, Vikas Dubey had told him to hide the weapons in his house and his house.”
He said that on the trail of Shashikant, the police team recovered AK-47 and 17 live cartridges during the search from Vikas Dubey’s house. Apart from this, many government weapons have also been recovered which were looted. Rifle and live cartridges have also been found from Shashikant’s house.
Prashant Kumar said that on the intervening night of July 2-3 in Bikaru village of Kanpur, Vikas Dubey and his associates killed policemen by firing them from the premises. Police weapons were also looted after the incident.
The ADG further informed that so far four people out of 21 accused have been arrested and 6 accused were killed in police action. Now the number of wanted accused has been reduced to 11, action will be taken against these 10 people as per law.
