Mathura: A 21-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her Facebook ‘friend’ in a moving car. When the girl was returning home after appearing in the Uttar Pradesh Police Sub-Inspector Recruitment Examination in Agra, she was raped. Police have arrested one accused.
Fainted by inhaling the drug
The girl alleges that the accused, a resident of Palwal, Haryana, had come to collect her from Mathura with his driver. Shortly after she got into the car, the man asked her to smell the drug. After that, she lost consciousness. When he regained consciousness, he found himself on the Delhi-Agra Highway (NH-2) near Kosikala. Somehow she reached home. After this, he narrated the ordeal to his family.
Statement recorded before the magistrate
SP (Rural) Shirish Chandra said that an FIR has been registered against the man under IPC section 376 (rape) based on a complaint given by the victim’s family members at Kosikala police station. On Wednesday, the woman was sent for medical examination. The police have started investigating the matter. The statement of the woman was recorded before a magistrate under section 164 of CrPC on Thursday.
One accused arrested
SP Shirish Chandra said that the main accused Tejveer has been arrested by the police, while his partner Digambar is still absconding. He said that both the accused are residents of Manpur village of Palwal in Haryana and two teams have been formed to nab the other absconding accused.
