Bollywood actor Irrfan Khan died at Kokilaben Hospital in Mumbai on Wednesday. He was 54 years old and was fighting a rare type of cancer for a long time. Irrfan was diagnosed with a disease called neuroendocrine tumour two years ago in March 2018. Irrfan Khan’s sudden demise has shocked his fans and sports world too.

The sports world has mourned the sudden departure of Irrfan Khan. Team India captain Virat Kohli tweeted, Irrfan Khan has expressed his grief over the demise. Apart from Virat Kohli, master blaster Sachin Tendulkar has also mourned, who is shocked by Irrfan’s sudden departure.

Sachin Tendulkar wrote, ‘It is very sad to hear about the demise of Irrfan Khan. He was one of my favourite actors and I had seen almost all his films. I saw his last film ‘English Medium’, his acting was brilliant, God bless his soul, my condolences to his close ones’.

Virat Kohli wrote, ‘It is heartbreaking to hear the news of Irrfan’s departure, what a wonderful talent he had, touched everyone’s hearts with his brilliant performances, may his soul find peace.’

Former India batsman Yuvraj Singh, who has gone through a difficult period of cancer, wrote, ‘I know this journey, I know this pain and I also know that they must have fought till the last time. Some people are lucky to succeed and some are not so lucky. I know that you will be in a much better place, Irrfan Khan. My condolences to your family. May his soul rest in peace.

Irrfan Khan was cured by getting treatment for this disease abroad. Recently, he was admitted to the hospital. According to the hospital, Irfan Khan was struggling with a stomach problem, he had a colon infection. He is survived by his wife Sutapa and two sons Babil and Ayan.

This is the second shock that the family felt in a week. Saeeda Begum, the 95-year-old mother of ‘Maqbool’ actor, died in Jaipur four days ago. The actor was unable to attend his mother’s funeral due to a lockdown imposed to deal with the coronavirus.

Irrfan Khan made his acting iron not only in the country but also internationally. Irrfan Khan was admitted to the ICU at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital on Tuesday due to rectal infection.

In a statement issued regarding the death of Irrfan Khan, it is said, ‘It is very sad that today we have to tell the news of his death. Irfan was a strong man who fought to the end and inspired every person he came in contact with. After fighting a rare form of cancer in 2018, he fought it and he struggled on every front of life.

According to the statement, “He breathed his last among his loved ones, his family and left behind a great legacy. We pray that he finds peace and we will repeat the words that he said, ‘It was so magical as if I was tasting life for the first time.’

Shoojit Sircar, director of the film ‘Piku’, tweeted, condoling the death of the actor, ‘My dear friend Irrfan. You fought, fought and kept fighting. I will always be proud of you. We will meet again. My condolences to Sutapa and Babil. You also fought. Sutapa, you gave everything in this fight. om Shanti. Irrfan Khan salutes you.’

The news of Irrfan’s demise came this morning after being admitted to the ICU. The National Film Award winner played different roles in films like ‘Life of Pi’, ‘The Namesake’ and ‘Haasta’. Won the heart The actor moved to the UK for treatment after becoming ill in 2018 and had distanced himself completely from the world. In 2020, he made a comeback to the big screen with ‘English Medium’ which also proved to be his last film.
