New Delhi: Former President Pranab Mukherjee underwent brain surgery at the Army’s Research and Referral (R&R) Hospital. This surgery was done to remove the blood clots formed in the brain. Sources said that Mukherjee is in critical condition and has been put on a ventilator. He also stated that all of Mukherjee’s health standards are stable and the surgery has been successful.
Mukherjee’s health bulletin issued by RR Hospital said that Mukherjee’s condition was critical at the time of being brought to the hospital on Monday and investigations revealed that a large clot had accumulated in his brain. In view of their condition, they were immediately operated upon. His condition remains critical after the operation and he is placed on a ventilator.
A team of doctors is monitoring his health. Earlier, 84-year-old Mukherjee tweeted that he had gone to the hospital for other reasons, where today the split-19 investigation confirmed him to be unstable. Mukherjee, a senior Congress leader and President of the country from 2012 to 2017, said in a tweet that I request that those who have come in contact with me in the last one week, themselves should go in isolation and divide themselves.
President Ramnath Kovind has wished Mukherjee to recover soon. He spoke to Mukherjee’s daughter Sharmistha Mukherjee and inquired about his father’s health.
Earlier, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh inquired about the health of the former President at RR Hospital. He remained in the hospital for about 20 minutes.
Several party colleagues, including Congress chief spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala, wished Mukherjee’s supporters to be healthy. The Congress tweeted from its official Twitter handle that we work for the early recovery of former President Pranab Mukherjee from the split-19 disease. Former President’s son Abhijeet Mukherjee also tweeted that I wish my father well soon.
I appeal to my countrymen to pray for their speedy recovery and good health. Heads of various places also wished their fires to be healthy.
