Mumbai: Actor Javed Jaffrey thanked the fans for the ‘love and respect’ their father had received. Famous comedian-actor Jagdeep died on Wednesday night. He was 81. A source in the family said that actor Jagdeep was handed over to a cemetery near Baikula in south Mumbai around 2.30 pm. After that, his son Javed spoke to the media along with brother Naved and son Meijer. Javed said, ‘Many people have sent us messages but we cannot reply to every person. We thank you for your love and prayers.’
Javed said, “Our father spent 70 years in the film world and he got a lot of love and respect and as we can see that love is being shown today.” He asked his fans and well-wishers to remember Jagdeep in his prayers.
Javed said, ‘On behalf of our father, who gave his 70 years to the film industry. If you can make a small prayer for them, then it will be enough for us.
Jagdeep worked in films as a child artist, lead artist and then a comedian. He acted in around 400 films and has acted in memorable films like ‘Toy’, ‘Brahmachari’, Sholay, ‘Purana Mandir’, ‘Andaz Apna Apna’, ‘Phool Aur Kaante’.
