New Delhi: Former PM Dr Manmohan Singh has given a statement on the India-China conflict. He said, ‘On 15-June 16, 2020, 20 courageous soldiers of India made supreme sacrifice in Galwan Valley, Ladakh. These brave soldiers performed their duty with courage and laid down their lives for the country. These sons of the country protected the motherland till their last breath. We are grateful to these courageous soldiers and their families for this supreme sacrifice. But his sacrifice should not go in vain.’

He said, ‘Today we are standing at a critical juncture in history. The decisions of our government and the steps taken by the government will decide how to assess our future generations. Those who are leading the country have a duty of duty on their shoulders. In our democracy, this responsibility belongs to the Prime Minister of the country. The Prime Minister should always be very careful with his words and proclamations about the impact on the security and strategic and terrestrial interests of the country.’

He said, ‘China has forcibly infiltrated the Indian border into Galvan Valley and Pangong Tso Lake many times since April 2020. We will neither bow down to their threats and pressure nor will we accept any compromise with our territorial integrity. The Prime Minister should not force his conspiratorial stance with his statement and ensure that all organs of government work in mutual agreement to face this threat and prevent the situation from becoming more serious.’
