New Delhi: A Delhi court on Friday issued a non-bailable warrant against AAP MLA Prakash Jarwal in the case of alleged suicide by a doctor last month in Durga Vihar area of South Delhi. The legislator then approached the court for interim bail.
A senior police official said that the Saket court has issued a non-bailable warrant against the MLA and co-accused Kapil Nagar. On April 18, 52-year-old doctor Rajendra Singh allegedly committed suicide in his home in Durga Vihar, South Delhi, and in a ‘suicide note’ he blamed Jarwal for taking the step. After this, the police had registered a case against the MLA for recovery and abetment to suicide.
Jarwal represents the Deoli assembly seat. He moved a Delhi court for interim bail in the case on Friday. The court has fixed May 11 for hearing the case. The MLA’s lawyer Mohammad Irshad said that the MLA had no connection with the doctor directly or indirectly and the allegations of recovery made by the family of the deceased in the FIR are false.
