New Delhi: After getting many concessions in Lockdown 4.0, now domestic flights are also going to start from Monday i.e. May 25. In this regard, information was given to all airlines and airports by the Ministry of Civil Aviation. All preparations have been made. Due to Corona, airports, airlines, air travellers and security agencies have to follow the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP). Masks and social distancing are most important. In this regard, the Civil Aviation Minister said that the operations of domestic flights will be started in a gradual manner from 25 May. Commercial flights were also banned since the first lockdown came into force on March 25 to prevent the coronavirus.
Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said that all airports and airlines have been informed about starting domestic flights sequentially from 25 May. However, the ministry will issue separate guidelines for the movement of passengers. It will provide information about the Special Operating Procedure (SOP) i.e. the mandatory conditions and standards for travel.
However, earlier on 18 May, when the fourth phase of the lockdown was announced to be extended till 31 May, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) had said that the domestic and international flights would be cancelled till 31 May.
