Border dispute: India-China 14-Hour Core Commander-Level Talks

New Delhi: India-China corps commander-level discussion for the withdrawal of forces in Ladakh lasted for 14 hours. The discussion was being held in Ladakh. This was the fourth discussion at this level. The Corps Commander level meeting between the two countries started at 11:30 AM on Tuesday morning and lasted till 2 PM.

Officials said that the fourth phase of Lt. General level talks focused on the removal of a large number of troops and weapons from the rear military installations near the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh. Sources said that before May 5, the Indian side insisted on the restoration of the former status quo in all areas of eastern Ladakh.

He said concerns were also conveyed about China’s ‘new claims’ in the area and demanded immediate withdrawal of Chinese troops from several areas, including Pangong Soo. However, no official statement has come about the information about the meeting.
