New Delhi: Apple has announced a new privacy policy for iOS and macOS at the World Wide Developers Conference 2020. After this update, the user will not only get more control over location data sharing but when the apps use the microphone or camera, the user will also get information about it through an indicator on the display. These features will be available to the users with the iOS 14 update.

User will get more control
After this update of Apple, users will be able to decide how much location data to share with the application. With this, Apple has introduced a new recording indicator. As soon as the camera and microphone are activated, the orange dot in the status bar will indicate the user about it. Apple has also introduced labels feature for app permission. This feature will tell the user how much data he will need before downloading an application. In this, the user will see two categories of labels – ‘Data linked to you’ and ‘Data used to track you’. This means that users will be able to monitor the link data and data used in the track with the app. Apart from this, Apple has also updated the app blocking and location tracking feature with iOS 14.

New privacy button on Safari browser
In the Safari browser of Apple, the user will see ‘Privacy Report’ button in the URL bar. With this help, users will be able to see third party trackers on the website and it can be blocked in just one click. Although anti-tracking features are already present on browsers like Chrome, Firefox and Edge.
