9 Al-Qaeda terrorists arrested in Kerala, Bengal Raids: Probe Agency NIA

Kerala: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has busted large networks. NIA has arrested 9 terrorists from Murshidabad and Ernakulam in Kerala. These people associated with the Pakistan-backed terrorist organization Al Qaeda were plotting a big conspiracy to terrorize the country, which was thwarted.

According to the information, the NIA conducted raids in Kerala and West Bengal regarding the Al Qaeda module. During this time 3 people were caught from Ernakulam in Kerala and 6 from Murshidabad in Bengal. The raids were conducted after the NIA came to know of an interstate module of al-Qaeda members at various places in the country including West Bengal and Kerala.

A large number of objectionable materials including digital equipment, documents, jihadi literature, sharpened weapons, indigenous weapons, paper related to making explosive devices at home have been recovered from the possession of the terrorists.

According to preliminary investigations, these people were radicalized on social media by Pakistan-based al-Qaeda militants. At the same time, several places including the National Capital Region were motivated to attack.
