Uttar Pradesh DGP Mukul Goyal said that a 9-member team under the leadership of DIG Upendra Agarwal has been formed to investigate the Lakhimpur Kheri violence. The investigation team consists of SP Sunil Kumar Singh, ASP Arun Kumar Singh, 2 circle officers, 3 inspectors and a sub-inspector.

Punjab Congress President Navjot Singh Sidhu, who was going to Lakhimpur Kheri, was taken into custody by the police in Saharanpur on the UP border. Akhilesh Yadav also met the relatives of the deceased journalist Raman.

However, out of the total 7 accused, 3 have died.

ADG Law and Order Prashant Kumar said that Ashish Pandey and Lavkush were arrested on Thursday. Kumar said both were arrested on the basis of an FIR lodged by the farmers. Along with this, two 315 bore shells have also been recovered from an SUV in the investigation of forensic experts.

In the Lakhimpur case, IG Range Laxmi Singh said that two people were called for questioning. In the interrogation of both, many evidences and evidence have been found. Information has been received about three accused involved in the incident, who have died. The kiosks have also been recovered from the spot, forensic examination of which is being done. Ashish Mishra, son of the Minister of State for Home, will also be summoned for questioning.

The Supreme Court has put the UP government in the dock over the Lakhimpur Kheri violence. The court has ordered the government to submit the status report of the investigation so far by Friday. Apart from this, it has been asked whether the people against whom FIR was lodged, were they arrested? Information should be given against those who are accused.

Earlier, Chief Justice NV Ramanna said that the court has taken suo motu cognizance of the entire matter. A three-member bench headed by him will hear the matter. Now the further hearing will be held today. Let us inform that in the Lakhimpur violence case, Bahraich farmer Hari Singh had filed a case of murder and criminal conspiracy against 15 people including Ashish Mishra, son of Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishra. He has accused Ashish of crushing the farmers.
