Manali: After inaugurating the Atal Tunnel in Manali, PM Narendra said that today is a very historic day. Today, the decades-old wait of Himachal residents has ended with Atal ji’s dream.

He said that this tunnel will make Leh Ladakh farmers easy access to the country’s markets for horticulture. This will also reduce their risk. He said that Atal Tunnel is going to give new strength to the infrastructure of India’s border.
He said that the projects related to the border went astray for a long time, got hanged. Something similar happened with the Atal Tunnel too. After Atal Ji’s government, this resolution was forgotten.
The PM said that if this tunnel had worked at an old speed, then this tunnel would have been completed in 2040. This expert explains. But seeing the importance of this tunnel in the development of the country, the pace of its development was increased. For the development of the country, the pace of development has to be increased.
The Prime Minister said that to make the Atal Tunnel, an excavation of 1400 meters per year was done. He said that in 2008 it was estimated that this tunnel would be ready for Rs 980 crore. But due to the delay, it has been prepared at a cost of more than 3200 crores.
He said that the same was done with other national projects like Atal Tunnel. These included the road and airstrip connecting Daulat Beg Oldi. This airstrip was completed by the will of the Air Force. They said that meeting the needs of the army is one of the priorities of his government.

Politics was done on the needs of modern fighter aircraft. The selfishness of those in power for years has prevented us from becoming stronger. He said that Tejas is proud of us.
