Mumbai: Kranti Redkar, wife of NCB zonal director Sameer Wankhede and her father Gyandev Wankhede, met Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari on Tuesday and filed a complaint against state minister Nawab Malik. Nawab Malik has been continuously opening a front against Wankhede regarding the Mumbai Drugs Case and accusing him.
‘Our reputation is at stake.‘
Kranti said after this meeting, ‘I met Governor Koshyari and my father-in-law Gyandev Wankhede and sister-in-law Yasmin Wankhede. We have complained on behalf of Minister Nawab Malik about the continuous attacks on us, and the family’s reputation has been at stake due to these attacks.
When asked about the Governor’s reaction, Kranti said, “Expressing the confidence that truth will prevail, he asked us to exercise restraint and be patient.” We are feeling very positive after meeting him.
Stuck in Nawab Malik and Wankhede
After the Mumbai drugs case, Maharashtra minister and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Nawab Malik continuously targeted NCB officer Sameer Wankhede. Malik has made many allegations against Wankhede, like being born in a Muslim family and getting a job by taking advantage of reservations through fake cast certificates.
Nawab Malik has also accused Wankhede of implicating people in the drugs case and making an illegal recovery. However, Wankhede has denied all the allegations made so far. Wankhede’s father has also filed a defamation case against Malik in the Bombay High Court.
