The action was taken on these MPs
In the Rajya Sabha, a total of 6 MPs including Ripun Bora, Chhaya Verma, Rajmani Patil, Phulo Devi Netam, Akhilesh Prasad Singh, Nasir Hussain are suspended. Along with this, action has been taken on Binoy Viswam of CPI and Elamaram Karim of CPM. Shiv Sena’s Priyanka Chaturvedi and Anil Desai are also suspended. Action has been taken against Dola Sen and Shanta Chhatri of TMC.
12 MPs suspended from session
Strict action has been taken against 12 MPs who created ruckus in the last monsoon session. 12 MPs from Rajya Sabha have been suspended for the entire winter session. These include 6 Rajya Sabha MPs of Congress. Along with this, action has also been taken on 2-2 MPs of TMC and Shiv Sena. One CPI MP and one CPM MP have also been suspended.
The Lok Sabha was adjourned till 11 am on Tuesday (30 November).
Agricultural law withdrawal bill passed in Rajya Sabha
Amidst the uproar, the Farm Laws Repeal Bill has also been passed by a voice vote in the Rajya Sabha. Earlier the bill was also introduced in the Lok Sabha, where it was passed by voice vote. The Rajya Sabha was adjourned for half an hour after the agricultural law withdrawal bill was passed.
Agricultural law withdrawal bill introduced in Rajya Sabha
Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar has introduced the Agricultural Laws Repeal Bill in the Rajya Sabha. Earlier, the Agriculture Minister had also introduced this in the Lok Sabha, which was passed by voice vote.

The government may propose to suspend 20 MPs
The government may propose to suspend 20 opposition MPs in the Rajya Sabha during the winter session of Parliament, who had created a ruckus during the monsoon session. In August, the government had asked Rajya Sabha Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu to take action against the opposition MPs. These MPs created a ruckus in the monsoon session, stopped ministers from working and some MPs climbed the tables. These include Syed Nasir Hussain, Ripun Bora, Pratap Singh Bajwa, Phoolo Devi Netam, Chhaya Verma, Akhilesh Prasad Singh, Deepender Hooda and Rajmani Patel of Congress, Dola Sen, Shanta Chhetri, Mausam Noor, Abir Ranjan Biswas and Arpita Ghosh of Shiv Sena. Our government is ready to answer all questions: PM
Before the winter session of Parliament, PM Narendra Modi said, ‘This is an important session of Parliament. The country is celebrating the nectar festival of independence, in India, in all four directions, for the creative, positive, public interest, national interest, common citizens are doing many programs for the nectar festival of freedom. The common citizens of the country are also trying to fulfil some of the other responsibilities to fulfil the dreams that the freedom lovers had dreamed of. This in itself is a good sign for the bright future of India.
He further said, ‘On Constitution Day also, with a new resolution, the whole country has resolved the responsibility of everyone to fulfil the spirit of the Constitution. The country would also like that the Parliament of India, this session and all the coming sessions, should hold discussions in the interest of the country according to the sentiments of the freedom lovers. How to run the Parliament in future, how well you contributed, how much positive work was done, should be weighed on that scale. Not the criterion should be who stopped the session with so much force. The government is ready for open discussion on every subject and we also want that there should be questions and peace in the Parliament. Our government is ready to answer all questions during the session. We should debate in Parliament and maintain the decorum of proceedings.
PM Modi said, ’80 crore citizens of the country should not suffer any more in the crisis of this corona period, so the scheme of free food grains is going on under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana. Now, this scheme has been extended till March 2022.
Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla tweeted about the winter session of Parliament. He said, ‘The winter session of Lok Sabha is starting from today. It is hoped that there will be active cooperation of all the parties during the session, the House will run smoothly and systematically. Honourable members will play their part in the proceedings with discipline and decency. With collective efforts, we will enhance the dignity of the House. In the next tweet, he said, ‘Today there are many such subjects before the country on which there is a need for serious discussion and dialogue in the House. The people of the country also expect the same from us. Efforts will be made during the winter session that every member should get enough time and opportunities to express the hopes and expectations of the public through the House.
BJP asked its MPs to come prepared
While devising a strategy for the winter session, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has insisted on maximum attendance of party MPs in its parliamentary party meeting and asked them to come prepared to take on the opposition. . Even during the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) meeting a day before the session, allies of the ruling coalition stressed on the need for better coordination. Meanwhile, some NDA allies welcomed the government’s decision to withdraw the agricultural laws.
Bill to repeal agricultural laws will be introduced
The bill to repeal three agriculture laws is likely to be introduced in the Rajya Sabha on Monday after they were passed by the Lok Sabha on the first day of the winter session of Parliament. The Agricultural Laws Repeal Bill-2021 is listed for consideration and passing in the Lok Sabha. Sources said that after the bill is passed in the Lok Sabha, it will be brought to the Upper House of Parliament.
