Goyal wrote in a tweet that, ‘Eye in the sky: Improvement in surveillance system, Railways has recently purchased ninja unmanned vehicles. Drones equipped with facilities like timely tracking, video streaming and taking necessary steps at the time of disturbances will increase monitoring of railway assets and ensure extra safety of passengers.’
RPF also bought 9 drones
According to a statement from the Ministry, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) has planned the widespread use of drones for railway safety. According to the statement, RPF has so far purchased nine drones for Southeast Railway, Central Railway, Rae Bareli’s Modern Coaching Factory and South Western Railway at a cost of Rs 31.87 lakh. RPF plans to purchase 17 more such drones in the future at a cost of Rs 97.52 lakh.
