Sonipat (Haryana): Two farmers from Punjab, who were involved in a group protesting against the new agricultural laws of the Center, were killed, one of which was found to be infected with the coronavirus. Meanwhile, the body has been sent for post-mortem.
The farmers were from Patiala and Ludhiana
Officials said on Wednesday that Balbir Singh (50), a resident of Patiala and Mahinder Singh (70), a resident of Ludhiana, died on Tuesday. He said that he was involved in a group of protests near the Singhu border. Jaswant Singh Poonia, Chief Medical Officer of Sonepat, told that Balbir had a fever for the last two days.
Balbir found corona positive during investigation
He said that Balbir was rushed to the government hospital, where doctors declared him dead and during the investigation confirmed that he was infected. However, Rai police station in-charge Bijender Singh said that he has not yet received the report from the health authorities. Kundli police station in charge Ravi Kumar said that Mahendra’s body has been sent for post-mortem and the cause of his death has not yet been ascertained.
