Esma Act: strike on strike for six months in all departments in UP, ESMA implemented

Lucknow: Till the effective control of coronavirus infection, the Uttar Pradesh government has implemented the Essential Services Maintenance Act (Esma Act) in all government departments for the next six months. The proposal of the Yogi Adityanath government to extend this act for six more months was sent to Governor Anandiben Patel. The governor has stamped this decision. The government took this step given the possible strike in the Department of Health and Energy and has extended the ESMA implemented in the state for six months.

The Uttar Pradesh government has extended the already enforced ESMA for six months given the increasing problem due to the second strain of coronavirus infection. Under the Essential Services Act, the ban on strike will remain in the state for the next six months.

Strike on hold for six months

Due to the implementation of ESMA in the state for six months, now no government worker, authority worker or corporation worker will be able to strike for six months. The strike has been banned in Uttar Pradesh for six months. All government departments, authorities, corporations, etc. in Uttar Pradesh have now been on strike for six months under ESMA.
