The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has taken action in a case related to money laundering. The agency has attached properties worth crores of Shridhar Patankar, brother-in-law of Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray.

The ED on Tuesday seized 11 residential flats built in Thane’s Nilambari project. The estimated cost is Rs 6.45 crore. Sridhar Patankar is the brother of Rashmi Thackeray, wife of Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray. They are partners in the Pushpak group.

After this action of ED, once again in Maharashtra, a debate has started between the Center and the Maha Vikas Aghadi government regarding the use of central agencies. Till now the ministers and leaders of Mahavikas Aghadi were on the radar of ED, but after this action it is believed that the family of Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has also come under the radar of the Central Investigation Agency.

The unsecured loan of Rs 30 crore was transferred through a shell company Shree Saibaba Grihini Samiti Pvt Ltd in the name of an entry operator Nandkishore Chaturvedi. It is alleged that Sridhar Patankar had bought these 11 houses in Thane with the same amount of money. The ED suspects that the money was used to buy these flats by money laundering.

Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut says that Shridhar Madhav Patankar is a member of our family. Their relationship is not limited to Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray. Action on Sridhar is a conspiracy of BJP. ED is taking action in those states where BJP is not in power.

The ED seems to have closed its offices in Gujarat and other big states. ED is taking action only in Maharashtra and Bengal. But no matter how hard the BJP tries, Bengal will neither bow nor Maharashtra will break.

On this action, BJP leader Kirit Somaiya said, Uddhav Thackeray had earlier given the right to loot the Mumbai Municipal Corporation to Sridhar Patankar. How does the money come from the contractor? Took out black money from closed companies. When the people of the state will come to know from whom the money came from the account of Shridhar Patankar, Uddhav Thackeray will not be able to answer it.

NCP Chief Sharad Pawar has reacted to the ED’s action against the relative of Maharashtra CM. He said that the government is using investigative agencies in politics. The situation is that now the investigating agencies are roaming in every village.
