Jaipur: Given the fast-growing corona infection and lack of oxygen, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has instructed the officials to chalk out plans to set up more and more oxygen plants, to increase the production capacity of the existing plants. He said that we are working towards becoming self-sufficient in the supply of medical oxygen.
Gehlot was reviewing Covid infection, oxygen gas and concentrator, availability of tankers, etc. through VC on Monday night. It was informed at the meeting that the process of importing the concentrator from China and Russia is being finalized. Discussions are also being held for procurement from some firms from Dubai and Mumbai. By the end of May, about 25 thousand concentrators will arrive.
Land for Plants Marked:
Urban Development Minister Shanti Dhariwal said that land has been identified for setting up oxygen plants in big cities through Urban Development Department and UIT. Some district collectors have been asked to mark the land. Plant near the hospital: Medical Minister Dr Raghu Sharma suggested setting up new oxygen plants as near to district hospitals as possible. Minister of State for Medicine Subhash Garg suggested simplifying the process of transferring additional Covid patients admitted to RUHS to SMS Hospital.
Talk to Reliance officials:
Chief Secretary Niranjan Arya said that the Central Government has demanded a supply of increased quota for Rajasthan from Jamnagar. The officials of Reliance Industries have discussed giving more supplies from this plant. Naveli Lignite has also offered support for the oxygen concentrator. Two tankers started working, four more attempts: It was informed in the meeting that oxygen transport has been started through some companies by converting two nitrogen and LNG tankers. The conversion work of some tankers is in progress. Efforts are also underway to bring four additional tankers from Panagarh in West Bengal.
