New Delhi: The controversy over the ‘Ghar-Ghar Ration Scheme’ is increasing in Delhi. The Chief Minister of Delhi has accused the central government of putting a stop to this scheme. After which BJP leader Sambit Patra made serious allegations against the Kejriwal government by holding a press conference.
BJP leader Sambit Patra has said that ‘There is a huge ration scam left. The Delhi government will have to follow the rules of the Centre. Chief Minister Kejriwal does politics in everything.
Patra said- ‘The Modi government has so far sent 37,400 metric tonnes of food grains to Delhi under the National Food Security Act and 72,782 metric tonnes of food grains under PM Garib Kalyan Yojana till June 5. Delhi has been able to lift only 53,000 metric tonnes of food grains and they have been able to distribute only 68% of it to the public.
Along with this, the BJP leader said that ‘Kejriwal has spoken today that Modi Ji is depriving the poor people of Delhi of their rights and is trying to stop ration from door to door, while it is not so. Modi Ji is providing ration to the needy of Delhi through National Food Security Act and PM Garib Kalyan Yojana.
“The Center had made the provision of One Nation-One Ration Card. But the Delhi government has refused to proceed on this subject, due to which thousands of labourers are deprived of getting ration today.
Let us tell you, earlier Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, while holding a press conference on the ration dispute, had said, ‘Respected Prime Minister, please do not stop the door-to-door ration scheme for the poor in Delhi.’
At the same time, AAP leader Raghav Chaddha has said that “BJP has stopped this scheme due to politics. The people of BJP are requested not to stop the scheme of home delivery of ration for the poor. Politically, the stomach of the BJP is hurting. BJP should implement ration home delivery across the country.
What is ‘Ghar Ghar Ration Scheme’?
Let us tell you, under this scheme, every ration beneficiary will get four kg wheat flour, 1 kg rice and sugar at his doorstep, whereas at present four kg wheat, 1 kg rice and sugar are available from fair price shops. Under the scheme, wheat flour would have been given in place of the wheat being distributed so far. The Kejriwal government argues that through this scheme, food grains will be saved from the ration mafia and will be delivered directly to the people.
