Washington: The US Open Tennis Tournament is being considered for a limited number of spectators or without spectators. It was informed in the local media on Saturday. The US Open is scheduled to be held according to its schedule, but the American Tennis Association (USTA) has said that this year the US Open is likely to be held in limited or no spectators.
USTA Chief Communications Officer Chris Wedemeyer said, “The USTA will continue to look at many different aspects of the 2020 US Open. Our main goal is to organize the US Open in New York according to the schedule. Therefore, we are discussing many aspects. These include a limited number of viewers and also the possibility of non-viewers.
The US Open is scheduled to be held from August 24 to September 13. Wedemeyer said that it is to be decided in mid-June how the tournament will be organized. All the international tennis tournaments including ATP, WTA have been postponed since March due to Coronavirus epidemic. The French Open has been postponed until September while Wimbledon has been cancelled for the first time since 1945.
