US President Joe Biden is continuously adding people of Indian origin to his team. In this episode, he has also entrusted Neera Tanden to the White House.

Even before this, Neera was given a big responsibility in the Biden government. Tanden was made director of management and budget for the White House office.

However, there was a lot of opposition to Neera’s name during that time, after which Neera Tanden herself withdrew her nomination.

John Podesta, the founder of the Center for American Progress, said in a statement that Neera intelligence, hard work and political vision will prove to be important for the Biden administration.

However, Podesta said that we would miss his expertise and leadership in CAP, which was formed in 2003.

Connection with Hillary Clinton and Obama too

Neera has been the favourite of many veteran politicians due to her work and talent. She has been a close aide of former US Secretary of State and Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton in the 2016 presidential election. Neera Tanden helped pass the ‘Affordable Care Act’ in the Obama government.

Proud day

MR Rangaswamy, the founder of the non-profit organization IndiaSpora, said, “The prospect of Neera Tanden being nominated for a cabinet-level position in the next administration is another proud day for Indian Americans.”

Their responsibility will be very wide. There is no doubt now that our community has become very politically strong.’
