India gets the support of four out of five countries for the permanent seat on the UNSC


New Delhi: Four out of five countries have supported India’s permanent seat on the UN Security Council. The government was informed that four out of five permanent members of the UN Security Council have expressed support for India’s candidature for a permanent seat in the global body. Explain that these five countries include America, Russia, France, Britain and China. Of these, the US, Russia, Britain and France have supported the candidature for permanent membership for India. But China has always opposed India’s permanent seat.

Let us know that recently India has become a temporary member in UNSC for two years. He has been elected a temporary member of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) for the 8th time. Out of 192 votes, 184 votes were cast in favour of India. Here, giving huge support to India, he has been elected as a temporary member of UNSC for 2021-22. India received 184 votes out of 192.

What is UNSC?
UNSC is one of the 6 major parts of the United Nations. Its main function is to ensure peace and security around the world. In addition, the work of adding new members to the United Nations and changes in its charter is also part of the work of the Security Council. Other responsibilities of the Council are to send peace missions to countries around the world. Apart from this, if military action is required in any part of the world, then the Security Council also implements it through resolution.

Permanent members of the United Nations Security Council, also known as P5, include the five following governments – China, France, Russia, Britain and the United States. These members represented the five great conquering powers in the Second World War.
