New Delhi: The next high-level talks between the Indian Army and the Chinese Army begin at 11:30 am on Tuesday to finalize the next phase of withdrawal of troops in view of the complete withdrawal of troops in eastern Ladakh. This is the fourth stage of dialogue between the two countries.
In this meeting, the retreat of the armies will be reviewed so far. Also, there will be a discussion on the Finger 4 retreat near Pangong Lake. Apart from this, talks will also be held to finalize the modalities to ensure peace in the region.
Sources say that there is no change on the ground situation and the process of the next phase of withdrawal of troops will be expedited only after the fourth phase talks between the core commanders of both sides.
As per India’s demand, the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) of China has already withdrawn its troops from Gogra, Hot Springs and Galvan Valley in the last week. At the same time, Pangong Tso has significantly reduced its presence with the Finger Four of the region.
India is insisting that China must remove its army from the area between Finger Four and Eight. Sources said that along with the Line of Actual Control in the Ladakh region, India is keeping a tight vigil and was fully prepared to deal with any incident. He told that senior military officers in Delhi are monitoring the situation in this area for 24 hours.
