Johannesburg: A major relief aid organization based in South Africa is sending more than 100 oxygen concentrators and continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) to India to help deal with the Coronavirus crisis, which proved to be very effective in saving lives in the country. Huh.
Efforts are being done from inside South Africa
The Gift of the Givers (GOTG) is making efforts to supply CPAP machines and discussions are on to get them to India soon. GOGT founder Imtiaz Suleman said, ‘We have spoken to the Department of International Relations and Cooperation as well as Trade and Industry Minister Ibrahim Patel and he has said that discussions are going on between the two governments on the oxygen issue. (He said) South Africa is trying to arrange oxygen for India to some extent because it is a very complex task.
Things are serious in India
According to data released by the Union Health Ministry on Saturday, the total number of infected people has increased to 1,91,64,969 after 4,01,993 cases of Coronavirus infection a day in India. Also, after the death of 3,523 patients, the number of dead has reached 2,11,853. The number of under-treated patients in the country has exceeded 32 lakhs.
