New Delhi: A research team of the Indian Institute of Science has achieved a significant breakthrough in the treatment of cancer through a nanometer. In this, the team used 3D Tumor Model and magnet-powered nanometer to know the micro environment of cancer cells. The team consisted of people from the Center for Nano Science & Engineering and the Department of Molecular Reproduction, Development and Genetics.

According to this research published in Angewandte Chemie, the rotating nanometer was driven through an external magnetic field to know the changes occurring within the cellular environment. This model included healthy and cancer cells. Debian Dasgupta, who was in the team, said that in a tumour model, he pushed nanometers towards the cancer cells and then tested their adhesion to the matrix close to the cancer cells. It does not show around normal cells.
Important information about cancer was found
The extracellular matrix (ECM) is made up of protein (Protein) and carbohydrate secreted by living cells. However, when cancer cells secrete fresh material into the ECM, it decomposes into a physical and chemical compound of the ECM. This shows that the cellular environment changes due to cancer cells. It can provide important information about the progress of cancer.
Found a way to eliminate cancer cells
According to research, nanometers reaching the cancer cells stick to the matrix more firmly than normal cells. This shows that the cancer cells are doing something. The happy conclusion of the research was that we found a way to eliminate these cancer cells and we are increasing such research for the good of living beings.
