New Delhi: Amidst the shortage of the Corona vaccine, good news has come for Delhi. From June 15, the Russian vaccine Sputnik V will start getting to the people of Delhi. At present, this vaccine will be available only at Apollo Hospital in Delhi. For one dose of the Sputnik vaccine, people will have to pay Rs 1145.
In India, Dr Reddy’s Laboratories is manufacturing the Russian vaccine Sputnik V. Which is being prepared at the plants located in Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam. According to reports, one thousand doses of the vaccine have already reached Delhi.
Till now, only Bharat Biotech’s co-vaccine and Oxford AstraZeneca’s Covishield were available to the public in India, but with the arrival of Sputnik V, the pace of the vaccine will get more impetus. The cost of Sputnik-V vaccine in Delhi will be Rs 1145 per dose.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had spoken to Dr Reddy’s Laboratory to make available the consignment of the vaccine to Delhi. After which the company has agreed to provide Sputnik V vaccine to Delhi. However, the number of vaccines the company will give to Delhi is yet to be decided.
After the approval of ‘Sputnik V’ on 11 August 2020, the Drug Controller General gave its green signal to its production in India. According to reports, Dr Reddy Laboratories has signed an agreement to sell 12.5 crore doses of ‘Sputnik V’ in India. The most important thing about ‘Sputnik V’ is that it requires more attention in its maintenance. It is kept at a temperature of minus 20 ° C. Significantly, due to the shortage of vaccines in many centres of Delhi, the vaccination has been stopped. It is expected that with the arrival of the Sputnik V vaccine, the work of vaccination will be resumed.
