Mumbai: Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) arrested the main accused Rhea Chakraborty and his brother Showik Chakraborty after a lengthy interrogation after the drug angle surfaced in the Sushant Singh Rajput case. Since going to jail, Rhea has filed bail applications several times till now, but each time the court has dismissed her bail petition. Rhea and Showik’s bail plea will be heard in the Bombay High Court today. But it seems that NCB does not want both siblings to come out of jail. NCB has decided that it will oppose Rhea’s bell.
The NCB has presented several serious arguments in the court on the bail plea of Rhea and Showik. The NCB says that if Rhea-Showik comes out of jail, the investigation will be affected. The NCB has filed an affidavit in the High Court yesterday opposing his bail.
In this affidavit, the NCB stated that “Rhea and Showik are part of the drug syndicate, as they were associated with high-profile drug peddlers”. Sameer Wankhede, zonal director (NCB), filed two affidavits in the High Court saying, ‘Electronic evidence such as WhatsApp chat, records were retrieved from mobiles, laptops and hard-disks and showed payment for drugs.’
Responding to the court, NCB said, Deepesh Sawant had also confessed that he used to bring drugs for Sushant Singh Rajput on several occasions at the behest of Rhea Chakraborty. Rhea and Sushant Singh Rajput used to give money for drugs. Deepesh Sawant told that he used to buy drugs for Sushant in association with Samuel Miranda. Rhea was summoned based on the statements of Showik Chakraborty, Samuel Miranda and Deepesh Sawant.
Rhea’s statement was recorded under the NDPS Act for three days thereafter, from 6 to 7 September. During interrogation, Rhea confessed to buying drugs, paying for it and giving instructions to Samuel, Deepesh and Showik. This statement of Rhea proves that she was an active member of the Drug Syndicate team supplying drugs. She used to give drugs to Sushant and he was also in control of his money. After these revelations, Rhea was arrested on 8 September under u / s 8 (c), 20 (b) (ii), 22, 27 A, 28, 29 of the NDPS Act.
Now it has to be seen what the Bombay High Court pronounce on the petition of Rhea and Showik. For information, let us know that NCB has arrested 20 people including Rhea and Showik in the drugs case.
