New Delhi: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) questioned the personal staff of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput in the money laundering case, including his domestic help servants. However, Pankaj Dubey, a close friend of the late actor, was not among those whom the ED has questioned. The officials gave this information on Saturday. According to top ED officials, the agency recorded the statements of Rajat Mewati and Deepesh Sawant on Friday under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002.

The officer said Sawant was a servant at Sushant’s house and he was one of the five men who saw the dead actor’s body in his Bandra flat on 14 June.

The ED did not interrogate Dubey. An ED source earlier mentioned Dubey’s name while talking to the media.

Mewati was Sushant’s accountant. He was asked about the financial matters and accounts of the late actor. The ED asked him why he quit his job and who used to direct him to pay. The officials particularly wanted to know if Riya Chakraborty, the actor’s girlfriend, had ever given him any instructions in this regard.

At the same time, some reports said that the late actor was paying the EMI of his former girlfriend Ankita Lokhande’s flat. However, Ankita Lokhande has denied this by sharing copies of her bank statement on social media.

She tweeted, “Here I want to stop all the speculation. I could not be more transparent. Here I am giving registration of the flat and complete details of my bank accounts from January 1, 2019, to March 1, 2020. My EMI deducted from the account every month. I cannot say more than this. Sushant gets justice.”

In fact, a report claimed that Sushant was paying an installment for a flat worth Rs 4.5 crore in Malad, where Ankita is reportedly residing. The report says that they have received this information from ED sources. Hours later, Ankita made the situation clear by tweeting that she was paying the installment of her flat on her own.

Lokhande has been vocal since the death of Sushant on 14 June and is demanding a CBI inquiry into the matter. She is also supporting the claims of the late actor’s family.
