New Delhi: Indian Railways has changed the rules of special trains running on 15 routes of Rajdhani Expresses. Railways have said that now bookings of these special trains will also be done online and through PRS counter ticket agents. Now passengers will be able to book tickets till 30 days in advance. Earlier there was a booking for 7 days.
With this, the railway has said that now the first chart will be released 4 hours before and the second chart will be released 2 hours before these trains. The first rule was that the second chart was released 30 minutes or half an hour earlier. Changed rules will apply from May 24.
The most important thing is that now RAC will also be available in these trains, whereas earlier it was not available. However, Tatkal tickets will not be booked in these trains right now. The waitlist will definitely be issued but if the waiting list is not confirmed till the last time, then it will not be allowed to travel.
Ticket booking of these trains can now be done from computerized PRS centres, post offices, passenger ticket facility centres as well as IRCTC recognized agents and general service centres. Indian Railways said, “The period for reservation of advance seats in these trains has been increased from seven days to 30 days.” These 15 pairs of trains are fully air-conditioned and have commenced operations from May 12.
