New variant of Covid AY.4.2 found in two people in Bangalore, administration alert

A new variant of Corona virus has been found in Karnataka. Experts have asked to be alert about this new delta variant of corona virus named AY.4.2, because this new variant of virus is causing third wave of corona in UK, Russia and China.

Through the genome sequence of this virus, it has been found so far that 2 people have been affected by this new variant of the virus. It is generally being said that this variant has come from the UK, but the 2 people in the capital Bengaluru in whom the AY.4.2 variant of the virus has been confirmed have no travel history. Although the team of Bangalore Municipal Corporation has got the Covid test done of all the primary and secondary contacts of these two people, the reports of all have come negative but still all of them are being monitored.

BBMP commissioner Gaurav Gupta says that the department is cautious about this new variant, so people do not need to panic. Experts say that there is a need to be alert about this new variant of corona virus, the main reason for this is that the current vaccine is not very effective on this new variant, if people show any negligence, then Covid AY 4.2 variant and it can flourish. The other mutants can cause the third wave of corona in the state.

At present, the state government is confident about this new variant that it will not cause much trouble to the people, the government says that all the mechanisms related to tracking, testing and treatment are fully active, so preparations are complete to fight this challenge.
