The Maharashtra Governor has patted film actor Sonu Sood, who is helping to send migrant labourers trapped in lockdown to their hometowns.
Sood has been helping migrants stranded in Mumbai to reach their own home states for the last several days. They have provided many buses for these migrants back home and they are doing this work continuously.
On Wednesday, Raj Bhavan wrote in his tweet, “Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari called actor, filmstar Sonu Sood and congratulated the migrants from various states for their work dedicated to the convenience of safe transportation to their home states.”
Sood transported the stranded migrants to distant states like Karnataka, Bihar, Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh during the nationwide lockdown.

Every migrant labourer trapped in lockdown for more than two months fulfils the laughter jokingly in the blink of an eye. Workers who have lost their troubles and livelihood are eager to leave their hometowns in North India and other states leaving Mumbai. Everyone is seen requesting to reach their hometowns. And Sonu Sood replies to a tweet himself. With the provision of ration for hundreds of migrant labourers, he is always ready with the responsibility of taking the fare of his rail-bus to his homes. On Twitter, Sonu Sood is taking all the problems of the people in his special style and joking. Sonu Sood’s way of speaking on Twitter is appealing to people. Sometimes in the Bhojpuri language, they are easing the difficulties of the people, sometimes they are extending the helping hand with jokes.

Maharashtra cabinet minister Jayant Patil has praised Sonu Sood for helping those trapped in this phase of lockdown. And pictures of helping migrant labourers have also been shared on social media.
Minister Patil wrote, ‘Sonu Sood is arranging buses for the migrants who want to return to their homes. He is trying to help as many migrants as he can. Onscreen villains are in reality an inspiring hero! God bless them.
A toll-free number also launched
On Tuesday, he also launched a toll-free number -18001213711 to facilitate migrants to reach their homes. After dialling this toll-free number, anyone can reach the team of Sud to get help.
About this, Sood said, “I was getting a lot of calls … thousands of calls were coming in every day. My family and friends were busy collecting data, then we realized that we were not helping many such people We will be able to do this, which will not reach us. Then we decided to open this call centre. It is a toll-free number. ”
Sood said that it is our effort that we help more and more people and reach them to their home.
