New Delhi: With the movement of migrant labourers, the lockdown is believed to be increasing in view of increasing cases of corona infection in many states of the country. Many states are in favour of extending the lockdown by two weeks. Most of the BJP ruled states are there. Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant wants to extend the lockdown for 15 days.

On these issues, on Friday, Home Minister Amit Shah visited Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s residence in New Delhi, Seven Lok Kalyan Marg. During this, Home Minister Amit Shah presented the suggestions received from the Chief Ministers of all the states to Prime Minister Modi. Sources say that there is a readiness to implement Lockdown 5.0 with some more leeway on the demand of states.

Shah had a telephonic discussion with the Chief Ministers of all states from morning to evening on Thursday, a day before this. He also spoke separately to the Chief Ministers of BJP ruled states. The main topic of conversation was how successful Lockdown 4.0 has been and what the states want ahead.

Sources say that most of the Chief Ministers spoke in favour of Lockdown 5.0 in view of increasing infection cases in their states. However, he also said that there should be an additional exemption as compared to Lockdown 4.0. The Chief Ministers discussed the normalization of activities in other areas while talking about focusing more on the Containment Area in Lockdown 5.0.
