New Delhi: The Union Home Ministry is serious about the new variant of Coronavirus, Omicron. Given the threat of Omicron, the Ministry of Home Affairs has sent an advisory to the states. The Union Home Ministry has also said in its order that all the states should ensure that the contact tracing of those who are international travellers is done solidly.
The advisory will be effective till December 31
Earlier on November 25, the Health Ministry had issued guidelines. On the instructions of the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Home Affairs has issued an advisory to all the states and union territories. The guidelines of the Ministry of Home Affairs will be effective till December 31. It is also mentioned in the advisory of the Ministry of Home Affairs that the guidelines should be strictly followed for the prevention of Covid.
Omicron threat in Karnataka
Two people have recently returned from South Africa to Bengaluru, Karnataka. The reports of both have come corona positive. In one of these samples, the delta variant has been confirmed, while the other sample has a variant different from the delta, which is being feared to be Omicron. Since this matter came to light, the Government of Karnataka is in constant touch with the Central Government and ICMR. Confirmation of ICMR is awaited.
Omicron variant reaches 17 countries
Significantly, the new variant of Covid-19, Omicron, was first identified in South Africa. Since then this variant has been found in 17 countries. Many countries have banned flights to South Africa.
Meanwhile, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said that not a single case of Omicron, a new variant of Corona, has been found in India. We need to be careful.
